The RAZCODE eHealth Gateway™ benefits hospitals and physician practices in meaningful and measurable ways. Studies have shown that when patients have access to their health information they proactively manage their health and they believe their quality of care improves. The RAZCODE Gateway will allow you to develop stronger relationships with your patients and improve outcomes, without further burdening your staff. And it may help you meet the Meaningful Use provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Physicians and hospitals interested in helping their patients get access to and control over their personal health information must use a Practice Management System (PMS) or an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that has been connected to the RAZCODE Gateway.
For practices and hospitals already using PMS or EMR software:
If your PMS or EMR software is connected to the RAZCODE Gateway:
1 Contact your vendor and ask how to activate the RAZCODE™ functionality in your software.
2 Be sure to explain that you want to enable the creation of RAZCODEs for your patients. You may also wish to ask the following questions:
Is a system upgrade required?
Are there any additional costs involved?
When can I start providing my patients with RAZCODEs?
3 Visit the RAZCODE Health Care Enterpries Website to register your practice, facility, or organization. You will need this username and password when activating the RAZCODE functionality in your software.
If your software is NOT connected to the RAZCODE Gateway:
Contact your vendor and ask about their plans for integrating their solution to the RAZCODE Gateway.
If your software is capable of importing and/or exporting continuity of care records, you can begin to use the RAZCODE Gateway immediately (while you wait for your vendor to integrate to the RAZCODE Gateway). Your patients can export their personal healh information as a RAZCODE and provide it to you. You can use the RAZCODE to preview the patient’s health information at the RAZCODE Health Care Enterprise Website or on your supported mobile phone. And you can upload the information into your EMR as well.* You can also use the RAZCODE Health Care Enterprise Website to export your patient’s health records as a RAZCODE.*
*Provided your EMR software supports the import and/or export of Continuity of Care records.
For practices or hospitals evaluating PMS or EMR software:
Ask your vendors if their solutions are connected to the RAZCODE Gateway and make integration with the RAZCODE Gateway, as well as support for the Continuity of Care standard, requirements for your practice and/or facility.
