Version 1.6 of RAZCODE Connected Health Platform Launched

| February 22, 2010 | 1 Comments

Today we launched the latest version of the RAZCODE Family of  Connected Health services. Version 1.6 represents a major step forward for the RAZCODE platform and includes the following new features:

  • Medical and fitness device integration  framework – any communications-enabled medical or fitness device can easily connect to the RAZCODE Gateway without the need for the manufacturer to develop a custom API. A simple web page that can receive HTTP subscribe/disconnect requests, or support for OAuth is the only requirement. Technical information can be found here and device vendors can begin the process of registering their devices for use on the RAZCODE Connected Health platform here.
  • Support for the Open Mobile Health Exchange (OHME) open source project. This allow users to enter simple microsyntax commands, that have been popularized by services such as Twitter,  to upload health information to any of the health management services supported by the RAZCODE Connected Health Service (e.g. Microsoft HealthVault, Google Health, Skinnyr, TrainingPeaks, etc.). An example of a OMHE command is:  “bg145″ – which would be used to record a blood glucose measurement. The OHME commands are used as part of the device integration framework discussed above as well.
  • Integration with Skinnyr, which is a online health management service for tracking your weight online, or on your iPhone. Weight measurements can be added to your Skinnyr graph using OHME commands or or via a  Withings Connected Body Scale (given the recent launch of our support for the Withings device).
  • Integration with TrainingPeaks, which is a training and nutrition web site. Weight measurements are automatically added as metrics to any workout created on the TrainingPeaks site using either OMHE commands or via a Withings Connected Body Scale.

We have also cleaned up a few areas of the website and added the capability for users to easily move information from one health management service to another (e.g. export weight measurements from Skinnyr and store them in their Microsoft HealthVault record).

We hope this release will establish the foundation for a number of new devices to be integrated to the RAZCODE platform, and it demonstrates are commitment to continue to add support for popular health management services as time goes on. Our goal is to make the RAZCODE Connected Health Service your hub for getting access to and control over your health, fitness, and wellness information.

Upcoming releases will make it even easier for our partners to integrate their health management services and health information repositories  to the RAZCODE Connected Health platform, creating even more options for you take advantage of.

Please give our service a try, and let us know what you think. Send your comments and suggestions to support@razoron.com.

Here’s to your health and well-being!
